Paris Pics 1

Everyone wears scarves here, so I've bought two. Also, everyone walks home with a baguette in a paper bag.

nearing the end ;-(

I have tomorrow to relax in the city of love, heading home on Friday. I have really dropped the ball with this blog, because like I said, I'm never in the apartment!

The drivers here are INSANE. I've never seen anything like it. There are no lanes. Everybody just goes wherever they need to go; constantly honking.

The food is just as fabulous as one might expect. Lots of pastries. Lots of baguettes. I've had quiche, and seafood. Lots of Coca-Cola Light and of course champagne.

We've seen the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower, the area call Montmarte where there are artists. We're near the Assemblie Nationale and the Gendarme. Tonight at the Eiffel Tower there were guards in camouflage armed with huge rifles of some kind. We have been accosted by street vendors; they are really funny.

Last night we went to Crazy Horse and saw Dita von Teese. The show was absolutely gorgeous; very tasteful and spectacular. Tonight we took a dinner cruise and got lots of pictures from the middle of the Seine. I'm editing pictures right now and will post a Picasa album shortly.

EVERYBODY smokes and the people are REALLY rude. That part is not a joke. Nobody smiles.

Trying to get some blogging in...

OK we're never here long enough.

Flew in from tiny Lawton, OK, airport to Atlanta on a puddle jumper. Flight to Paris was not too bad at all; watched three movies, pissed off a guy by spilling my beer on his foot.

It was about 7:30 AM when we rolled out of Charles de Gaulle. We had some time to kill so our driver showed us around, where stuff is that we'll want to see. Had our first meal; fried eggs, croissants and cafe au lait.

Sunday afternoon we slept for several hours, then went down to Champs Elysees. It's something like a Parisian version of Times Square. We saw Louis Vuitton's HUGE store, had Haagen Dazs at the headquarters. The Arc de Triomphe is there too.

So there's a start for you. More to come and pics...

Bonjour!

I have much to say and not much time right now. I'll post more detail later, and pics. All of the cars are tiny, and they drive and park like maniacs. The food is amazing and the people are rude. Check back for updates!
